West Coast Swing &
Hustle Strictly Swing

teacher in a
strictly swing format. Two levels and four divisions for each
dance will be
offered.

Pro-Am Leader Intermediate Hustle
For amateur
follower dancers:

Pro-Am Follower Novice Hustle
Pro-Am Follower Intermediate Hustle
An
amateur cannot compete in the same category & dance at two different
levels (i.e. Novice WCS Leader & Intermediate WCS Leader).
Maximum entries for pros/teachers is 5 amateur dancers per division
(regardless of lead or follow). A division is defined as "Pro-Am
Novice WCS" - regardless of gender separation. Please note
that this is the only competition at Swing Niagara that allows dancing
with partners of the same sex.
Amateurs can dance in only one level (novice, intermediate) per dance
(WCS, Hustle) per category (leader, follower), and therefore the most
divisions an amateur dancer can compete in is four (i.e. Novice WCS
Follower, Intermediate WCS Leader, Novice Hustle Follower, Intermediate
Hustle Leader). An amateur cannot compete with multiple pros in
the same level/category/dance. Different pros may be chosen by the
amateur when dancing a different dance or category.
Divisions/levels work on an honor system - if you won the novice Pro-Am
at least twice in the past at Swing Niagara, we respectfully request that you compete
at the intermediate level this year.
Only those who do not teach either group or private lessons can compete
as an amateur dancer in this competition.
Competition Fee: $20 USD per couple (weekend
pass must be purchased to compete for both pro & am).
Registration cut-off time: Saturday, September 13th 12:00pm
Competition time: Saturday, September 13th
1:30pm (different times for each division)
